The wait for the famous Canadian coffee house to open its doors is finally over as Tim Hortons is officially opening in Burnley this week, and we got to take a look inside.

The Lancashire Telegraph was warmly welcomed into the town’s new fast food restaurant and everything, from the food to the service, and even minute details in the décor, was simply delightful.

Tim Hortons will open its new store to eager customers at 7am on Wednesday, November 30. Located at Anchor Retail Park, the restaurant will be open from 6am seven days a week – serving breakfast until 11am every day.

As well as a dine-in option, the Burnley branch features a drive-thru, delivery and takeaway service, and if it is as popular as other sites across the country, expect to see huge queues as people clammer to get their hands on burgers, drinks and sweet treats.

Lancashire Telegraph:

With only 20 Tim Hortons dotted around England, Burnley marks the spot for Lancashire’s first restaurant, and after indulging in a taste test of items from the menu – it’s sure to be a sweet hotspot for locals.

We visited the restaurant on Monday (November 28) for a sneak peek inside and got the chance to sample the chain’s classic items, as well as ones from the festive range.

Restaurant trainer, Chloe Fairbrother, shared her thoughts on the festive menu and how excited locals were for the opening of Lancashire’s first restaurant.

She said: “We’ve got a really exciting menu for customers to choose from, but our hotdogs are really popular because they’re halal (they are made from turkey, not pork).

"Our Tims Crispy Chicken Stack is also one of our best sellers.

“There’s also the TimBits doughnuts which everyone loves, and we’ve also got the Snow Place Like Home doughnut which is another one our customers have been loving.

“There are drinks from our Festive range that we’re excited about. We’ve got the Gingerbread Latte and Salted Caramel Latte, and the Chocolate Yule Hot Chocolate and Spiced Orange Hot Chocolate.”

The first item we tried was a limited edition ‘Season’s Eatings’ menu item - the Currywurst Hot Dog which was a flavoursome recreation of the iconic German fast-food staple, and ranked top as one of our favourites.

The Turkey & Cranberry Melt (grilled sandwich) and Bacon & Cranberry Hot Dog were equally as delicious and paired with a sip of each special edition hot drink, served as a merry and festive feast.

We then tried the pancakes with caramel and maple syrup which were served with a generous dollop of whipped cream, before moving onto the Bacon Double Burger and the Crispy Chicken Stack.

The burger meals came served with lattice fries which was a fun alternative to standard fries.

While we would have loved to continue indulging in more burgers, wraps, melts and more, it was time for dessert.

The beloved bitesize doughnuts which go by TimBits didn’t disappoint but warning for you all – they’re dangerously moreish.

The Snow Place Like Home is a fun gimmicky donut which, after smashing your way through the white chocolate igloo, oozes with sprinkles of chocolate stars.

There’s also a selection of old fashion glazed doughnuts and Deluxe Doughnuts you can purchase in boxes of six and 12.

Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: “We are delighted to be introducing the brand to Lancashire for the first time, and just in time for the festive period.

"Burnley has a vibrant community, and we can’t wait to bring our renowned offering to locals and those visiting.

“We have some fantastic prizes and festive promotions for all our guests on launch day and beyond, so make sure to stop by to join the celebrations!”

As part of the launch celebrations, the first customer in the restaurant queue will be awarded with free drinks for a year, with a prize worth £3,100.

The restaurant will also be giving away a free breakfast meal to its first 100 customers.
