The full lineup for this year's Christmas Light Switch On in Accrington has been announced.
Amazing Accrington has announced the Take That Experience will be the entertainment on the main stage this year during the event on Thursday (November 24).
The line-up will also include live music from Gavin Young, a collective school choir, the Neil Diamond Experience, Jack and the Beanstalk panto, fire eaters dance act Desi Nach, the Accrington Pipe Band, as well as special appearances from Accrington Stanley and Accrington Stanley Women players.
The entertainment will get underway from 4pm, compered by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Stephen Lowe, with the countdown to the Light Switch On starting at 7.35pm before a fireworks display at 7.40pm.
The event is sponsored by North Lancs Training Group, Sundown Solutions, Accrington and Rossendale College, Hyndburn Borough Council and Financial Affairs.
Accrington Market will also be transformed into a spectacular Christmas Market including over 70 stalls and headlined by Great Harwood-based business Finch Bakery, as well as other great local businesses including Brie Mine, while shops inside the market will also be open on the night.
There will also be a number of great Shop Local offers available on the night, with many Hyndburn independents open on the night.
Deputy leader of Hyndburn Council, Marlene Howarth said: “The Christmas Light Switch On is the best event of the year and I can’t wait to see the town centre packed again, with family and friends having fun and enjoying all the fantastic activities on the square and in the market hall.
“We want everyone attending to embrace Shop Local – we have so many wonderful local businesses here in Accrington and this is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate them.”
