The Fire and Rescue service has shared pictures of an adorable baby seal they rescued.

On Thursday (November 17) firefighters attended an animal rescue in Fleetwood where a seal pup was trapped between two boulders.

One fire engine from Morecambe was sent to Fairway and were in attendance for 15 minutes.

The pup was uninjured and swam back into the sea after being released.

Images show the animal stuck between the rocks and another adorable snap shows the seal clinging onto a firefighter’s leg.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 13:42 on November 17, one fire engine from Morecambe attended an animal rescue on Fairway, Fleetwood.

“The incident involved a seal pup that was trapped between boulders

“Firefighters released the animal using large animal rescue (LAR) equipment. They were in attendance for fifteen minutes.

“The pup wasn't injured and happily swam to sea after being released.”
