Two people in Padiham had their air weapons and fireworks seized by police.
In September, police intercepted two people in Padiham following a report that was made of two men pointing a rifle in the direction of a nearby park where children were playing.
Officers have also received reports of people shooting pigeons and targets on trees in public places and parks in Padiham.
Police have now issued a warning to members of the public to make sure they aren’t breaching any laws.
Section 19 of the Firearms Act states it is illegal to carry a weapon or air weapon in a public place – whether the air weapon is loaded or not.
A spokesperson for the police said: “If you are spending a lot of money on your air weapons, make sure you do not breach the law concerning the carrying or use of your air weapons.
“In this case, one of the air rifles was quite expensive and the Police action has caused its owner some upset, to say the least, as he will not be getting the air rifle back.
“For members of public, we are grateful for your kind cooperation. Please continue to report any suspicious activity in your area to the police and we will endeavour to act upon the information that you pass.”
