A driver has been arrested and banend from driving after being caught speeding on the M6.
Last night (Saturday, November 12), police from the Tactical Ops team flashed a “follow me” sign on the matrix board of their vehicle.
The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira decided to ignore the police’s demands and started driving dangerously at speeds over 100mph on the M6 northbound carriageway.
With the help of North West Motorway Police, the officers managed to stop the driver at junction 35 near Carnforth.
The driver was arrested and has been banned from driving until 2023.
A spokesperson for the police said: “This Vauxhall Zafira decided to ignore the “follow me” on the matrix board of #HO41 before driving dangerously at speeds exceeding 100mph on the M6 n/b.
“Driver stopped with the assistance of #MN11 + #MN31 at j35. Driver disqualified until 2023.”
