A community group are introducing new wellness walks so the local community can come together, make friends and improve their mental health.

Darwen Wellbeing Walks have been designed to take place once a week as part of the Darwen Community Wellness group created by Community Spark Asset Fund, Jade Healing Holistics and Brain Health Breakthrough CIC, hoping to help the community feel supported and understood.

The walks will take place each Monday from 6.30pm, meeting up at the entrance of Whitehall Park.

Jade Patterson, owner of Jade Healing Holistics, and Karen Haworth are organisers of the walks.

They said: "These walks will be a safe and open space for anyone to come along to make new connections, get their steps in or have truthful and real conversation about mental health, habits and anything that may be weighing heavy on your mind.

"Everyone is welcome on our walks."

Torches will be provided and organisers are happy to go at any pace the walkers find comfortable.

At some point during the walks there will also be the option to take part in rest time with guided meditation, gratitude exercise or a moment of silent reflection.
