A popular Indian restaurant which closed this summer has reopened with different décor, a new menu and name.
Achari, at 145 Redlam in Blackburn, closed down without warning in August.
However, fans of the former restaurant were graced with good news as the business reopened as Spice Garden on Friday, October 14.
To mark the special occasion of its grand opening, customers were offered a generous 50 per cent off the bill when dining in.
Whilst Spice Garden has only been open for a short amount of time, both reviews left by customers paint the revamped restaurant in a positive light.
One woman wrote: “Went to the grand opening on Friday, delicious food. Five stars.”
Another customer said: “Just returned from the opening of Spice Garden. Five stars. Beautiful food, really friendly staff, reasonably priced. Will be going again, highly recommended.”
On the Facebook page, the restaurant is described as “a cosy and ambient restaurant serving great Indian cuisine” and it's noted they only serve halal food and drinks - so alcohol cannot be ordered.
Straying from the purple and blue theme in Achari, Spice Garden is decorated with pastel-coloured floral details and warm white and orange lighting.
Ali Huson is the owner and chef at the restaurant and says he has been "busy non-stop ever since opening a couple of weeks ago".
When Achari shut without warning locals were left confused and some turned up to find the doors were shut.
One customer who was left waiting in limbo for around two months wrote on TripAdvisor: “Where have you gone guys? I need my curry! You have just vanished with no goodbye? I’m so very very sad.”
The newly-opened Spice Garden is open on Mondays 5pm to 11pm, Wednesdays to Saturdays from 5pm to 11pm and on Sundays 4pm to 11pm. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
Delivery is available for a £1 charge within a three-mile radius and then £1 charge per mile after that
The menu ranges from classical curry dishes to more experimental Asian-style dishes like Karahi Gosht or Lamb Nawabi. A Sunday Special including poppadum and chutneys, choice of any starter, main course, and naan bread is available for £12.95.
