A YOUNG dancing duo are keeping their feet firmly on the ground' after winning through to the final of Britain's Got Talent.

Eight-year-olds Charlie Dixon and Krista Hyatt - the Cheeky Monkeys - beat thousands of competitors to make it to the final of the nationwide talent contest, which will take place on Saturday.

Viewers put the duo into the top three where they faced a vote-off before the panel of judges.

Simon Cowell's deciding vote put them through to the final saying they were his "favourite act of the night so far."

The starlets, who attend Laneshawbridge Primary and Park Primary respectively, will be practicing a new routine put together by dance teachers at Sandersons Dance and Fitness studio on the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate in Nelson.

The pair, who have been training together for the last 12 months, have won most of the competitions they have entered.

Krista, who has been dancing since she was four, was partnered with Charlie who had not danced before and they have been training four times a week.

Lisa, Krista's mum, said: said: "Their feet are still firmly on the ground.

"At the end of the day they are just children who are enjoying every minute of it.

"I don't think the kids realise what is happening. We are doing all the worrying for them.

"They are dealing with it really well.

"I am still in shock-I was speechless when I found out.

"My heart was racing so fast.

"It is sinking in a little at a time and we are over the moon."

During an earlier show Simon's vote put them through after he praised their performance for being "terrific" with "great energy and great costumes" but added he had reservations about their choreography .

Both sets of parents were at the show on Tuesday and the mothers will remain with the pair until the final on Saturday.

Lisa, who lives in Colne and works in Skipton as an area supervisor, said that the pair got together thanks to dance teachers who thought they would be perfect for one another.

She added: "Even though Charlie had only just started he loved and is as passionate about it as Krista.

"They do everything disco, rock and roll, jive and free style."

Judge Piers Morgan, who previously voted to reject the pair, admitted he had been wrong in the semi-final, which was broadcast live on Tuesday night.

He said: "In your audition I buzzed you and said that you were not ready for this.

"And my problem is that I am going to have to do what I hate doing and admit I was wrong.

"I tell you why I was wrong. You chose a great song, great outfits and you danced really well so congratulations."
