Shoppers in Burnley are being urged to stay alert after a group of pickpockets are targeting customers in Primark.
Police had warned that the thieves are stealing mobile phones that are visible in people’s coat pockets.
Officers are working to hunt down the suspects but are urging shoppers to keep their phones out of sight.
A spokesperson for the police said: “It has come to our attention that a group of pick pockets are targeting customers in the Burnley branch of Primark.
“These thieves are stealing mobile phones that are visible in people's coat pockets.
“While we are working to identify the suspects we would like to urge shoppers not to leave their phones in an easily accessible pocket or even in an open bag that could also be an easy target."
