A major road has been closed following a serious crash between a car and a lorry.
Police closed the A59 Gisburn Road at Sawley just after 10.50am today (Thursday October 6).
Emergency services are at the scene with the road expected to be closed for some time.
A police spokesperson said: "We are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Gisburn Road, Sawley.
"Around 10.50am today we received a report of a collision involving a car and lorry.
"Emergency services are in attendance with the road closed.
"We will update you in due course."
