A noodle bar is giving away 10,000 free meals to celebrate National Noodle Day tomorrow.

And to commemorate the day in East Lancashire, Chopstix is handing out 100 free boxes of noodles to the first customers through the doors of its M65 services site on Thursday, October 6.

More than 50 stores nationwide are taking part in the celebrations, with Chopstix supporting customers as the cost of living crisis continues to impact consumers.

Chopstix fans in Blackburn and Darwen will be in with a chance of grabbing themselves a free box of small noodles, from the M65 junction four store, with 5,000 boxes of noodles being available to the first 100 customers at more than 50 stores UK wide.

Marketing director for Chopstix, Rob Burns, said: “The last few years have been a challenging time for people across the UK and now the cost of living crisis is putting more and more people under continued pressure.

“We wanted to do something to mark National Noodle Day that would look to make even a little difference and give people something to smile about.

"We’re both excited and proud to be able to donate 10,000 noodle boxes to people across the UK during these uncertain times…and everyone loves noodles right?”

The initiative is part of Chopstix’s continued campaign of ‘Noodle Aid’ which aims to deliver noodles to a number of cities and places across the UK for free.

Noodle Aid launched officially in Manchester in 2020, when 400 food parcels were delivered to the Manchester Metropolitan University halls of residence to feed self-isolating students stuck in their flats.

Arriving in style, a vintage WW2 tank dropped off 400 food parcels, along with the Noodle Aid platoon dressed in full army attire.

Since then, Noodle Aid has visited a number of cities across the country to give away free noodles.

To claim a free box of noodles on Thursday October 6, customers will have to download the free voucher by following the link - www.chopstixnoodles.co.uk/noodleday.

Chopstix has also partnered with Your Local Pantry, which operates 80 community food hubs around the country, to donate 5,000 food vouchers which will be evenly shared across 80 of their neighbourhood food hubs in the UK.

James Henderson from Your Local Pantry, said: “The Your Local Pantry network is growing rapidly, as more and more communities see the value and success of the approach. Maximising member choice is always important to us, so we’re very pleased and grateful to be able to partner with Chopstix in this way.”
