An East Lancashire shopping centre has launched a competition as they hunt for the town’s best busker – and you could win a cash prize.

Burnley’s Charter Walk’s latest social competition, cleverly titled The Busk Factor, looks to find Burnley’s most talented busker.

Performers who submit a video of themselves busking are in with a chance of winning £100 and a spot to play at the Centre in the lead up to Christmas.

A spokesperson for Charter Walk said: “Community is key and of utmost importance here at Burnley’s Charter Walk, so we have placed the decision in who wins up to the Facebook followers and local community, who ultimately play the part in being the judges of The Busk Factor – the panel of people that performers need to impress

“Busking is something that makes everybody feel happier, and is something that puts a smile on your face.

“Whether you’re walking down the street and you hear your favourite song being performed, or hear a song that makes you feel a little glimpse of nostalgia – busking is bound to brighten up your day and make you feel that little bit happier.”
