Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash in Clitheroe.

The incident happened on Chatburn Road at around 7.15am on Friday September 23.

The biker, a man in his 50s, was involved in a crash with a VW Golf and suffered injuries to his leg, wrist and lower back.

Officers are now asking witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a serious injury collision involving a motorcyclist and car in Clitheroe.

"Around 7.15am on Friday (September 23) police were called to an accident in Chatburn Road.

"A man in his 50s riding a BMW motorcycle had been involved in a crash with a navy blue Volkswagen Golf.

"He suffered injuries to his leg, wrist and lower back and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

"We are urging any witnesses, or anyone with dashboard mounted camera footage, to come forward with information."
