THE grand finale of Darwen Library's centenary celebrations will be an old-time music hall evening, organisers have revealed.
To round off the month-long activities, the variety performance will be at Darwen Library Theatre on Saturday, May 31 from 7.30pm.
The principle players include the Dapa Dancers who will perform the can-can and Fred Astaire classic numbers, the Ashleigh Singers and singer James Loynes.
Completing the line up are singers Lucy and Christine, band Classique, musician Michael Greenhalgh, tenor Jim Lancaster, and drummer Geoffrey Dixon.
The evening will be compared by Darwen comedian Donald Banks.
Mr Banks said: "It's going to be a great end to the celebrations with something for everyone.
"All the artists are semi or fully professional and it is great they have given their time to do this."
Tickets cost £7 or £6 for library members. They are available from Darwen Library or by ringing 01254 706006.
The audience are invited to dress in period costume if they wish.
