Mosques from across Burnley competed to be crowned Inter Madrasah Football champes at a tournament.

The Stoneyholme Community Project hosted their first Inter Madrasah Football Tournament at Crow Wood Soccer.

Pupils from all the Mosques in Burnley took part.

Organizer Noor Miah said: “It was incredible to see all the Mosques coming together for the betterment of the community

“You could see the smiles on the children who have been talking about the tournament for weeks.

“It was nice to witness some excellent talent and sporting rivalry between teams.”

Queensgate Islamic Centre ran out as eventual winners on the day over coming  Jamia Masjid Ghausia Burnley in the final.

Ibrahim from the Masjid Farooq E Azam was named player of the tournament.

Noor Miah added: “A special thanks to all the volunteers who gave their valuable time. Without their support and dedicated we would not have been able to host such a successful event.”
