Virgin Media customers in an East Lancashire town say they have been left without  internet and television for days.

Some customers in Darwen say they have been without these services since Wednesday night (September 21) and say they are unsatisfied with the response from customer service.

Sue Riley told the Lancashire Telegraph that her internet and TV has been down since Wednesday night and says the outage is impacting her work life.

She said: “This is completely out of order. We haven’t had internet or TV since Wednesday night.

“The service updates from Virgin Media change all the time.

“They say they estimate it will be fixed later in the day and then when the time comes its updated to the following day.

Sue says customer service hasn’t been helpful .

She said: “They won’t help and say they don’t have an update – they just refer us to the service update.

“I am dependant on the internet for some home working which I can’t do.”

Sue isn’t the only person to have reported issues.

An electronic cigarette shop, Totally Wicked Darwen, has been forced to remain closed today (September 26) due to the issues.

The Duckworth Street shop said: “Due to the continued Virgin Media outage throughout Darwen, we will unfortunately have to remain closed today due to none of our systems working.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this causes our customers but it is out of our hands. We will keep you updated as to when we expect to reopen.”

Steph Taylor said: “Mine had been off since Thursday morning”

Ian Rothwell said: “It's shocking to be left this long without any services”

Another person said: “My update messages have gone from ‘the engineer is on site’ to ‘he’s on his way over’ for the last five days –  which is it?!”

Another said he has “put a complaint in” about the “nonsensical” update messages he has been receiving in previous days.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re working hard to restore service for a small number of customers in Darwen.

"Our engineers are working on the fault as a priority and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
