A new bistro that promises modern dishes and an extensive wine and drink list is opening in the Ribble Valley today (September 22).

Fell Bistro, in Berry Lane, Longridge, will open to diners this evening - and the food looks delicious.

Joint owners Oli Martin, Matt Willdigg and Alex Blamire say they are looking forward to opening and are ready the use their years of experience in the hospitality industry to create a casual dining experience for customers.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph they said: “Having all previously worked together at fine dining restaurant, Hipping Hall in Kirkby Lonsdale, we knew each other well and how we all operate from a business perspective.

“When the opportunity to open a restaurant together in Longridge arose, we thought if anyone can make a success of a great property in a fantastic location, it’s us.”

They said the team’s past experience make them stand out from other bistros.

They said: “We want to take our fine dining backgrounds, strip it down and form a casual service done right.

“Together we bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion. Both Oli and Matt have over 30 years’ experience combined working in various Michelin and rosette establishments.

“Alex trained as a sommelier and has worked in some of the Lake District's best restaurants.

The Fell’s finished menu is yet to be revealed but food will be based on classic bistro dishes with a “modern edge”.

The owners said: “Quality is at our core. We want to serve food people know and love and give it our own touch.

“Our wood-fired oven and grill will feature heavily throughout the menu.”

The team is looking forward to the coming months, despite the growing cost of living crisis.

They said: “We are very much looking forward to the coming months, it’s a really exciting time for us.

“So far we’ve been accepted into Longridge with open arms, we think Fell is just what the town needs and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone in with some good old fashioned northern hospitality.”
