A CHEESE thief who struck twice at Kitchens Garage in Burnley was given a suspended jail term.
Thomas Leverett, 49, who has 76 previous convictions for theft, told police: "Whenever I go shoplifting I always get caught."
Leverett, of Grange Street, Burnley, admitted two theft charges. He was given four months in jail, suspended for 12 months, with a supervision order. The bench, who allowed a current conditional discharge to run, ordered he pay £23.10 compensation.
Trevor Grice, defending, said Leverett, a former drug addict, did not commit any offences whilst on a community order, but had then fallen into bad ways.
