A PYRAMID tower, slide and fantasy fun run are just some of the new pieces of play equipment planned for the Grade II-listed Bold Venture Park.
Children from St Joseph's and Holy Trinity primary schools in Darwen helped Blackburn with Darwen Council to choose the new equip-ment by submitting drawings during the consultation period last year.
Borough leisure chief Steve Rigby said: "This superb equipment will provide exciting opportunities for safe outdoor play for children from Darwen and beyond.
"I'm delighted so many schoolchildren and residents took the time to let us know what they wanted to see."
Plans featuring the equipment and layout of the area will be taken into the schools before going on display at Darwen Town Hall and library in the next few weeks.
