A MAN refused entry to a Burnley pub headbutted a bouncer, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Steven Heyes, 22, had been turned away from the Red Room twice because he was wearing a tracksuit.
He then tried to punch door superviser John Stockdale several times but missed.
Heyes, of Barley Grove, Burnley, admitted assaulting Mr Stockdale by beating on April 2.
He was given a 12-month community order with 50 hours unpaid work and must pay £50 costs and £50 compensation.
Andrew Robinson, prose-cuting, told the court the defendant and two others tried to get in the bar, were turned away because they were not dressed correctly and did not cause any problems.
At 11.30pm, the group returned, the two other men had changed into jeans, but the defendant was still wearing a track suit.
The two men were allowed in, but Heyes was refused entry.
He then stood back and lunged at Mr Stockdale, headbutting him in the forehead with some force.
Dylan Bradshaw, defending, said the case was an example of "beer in, sense out."
