PENDLE'S leisure centre bosses are asking residents in the borough for their thoughts on their new menu.

Pendle Leisure Trust wants to replace some of its existing snacks with healthy options and is carrying out surveys to find out what foods customers want.

The survey is part of the council and East Lancashire Primary Care Trust's Healthier Communities campaign.

Sue Slater, executive manager for Pendle's sports facilities, said: "We are committed to getting people fit and healthy.

"Soon people will be able to go to their local sports centre to get fit and get some of their five-a-day fruit and vegetables at the same time."

The team will be finding out what people want to eat and how important they think it is to get their five a day, as well as giving suggestions for the new menu.

The Mayor of Pendle, Coun Allan Buck, said: "It's so important for people to eat healthily and we feel this way we are doing our bit to help and encourage them."
