Artistic youngsters are to receive classes in singing, acting, rapping and street dancing thanks to a new community arts project fronted by actor Paul Nicholas.

The Just Good Friends star, who has a performing arts school in Thornton launched a 16-week programme of classes for children and young people between the ages of 11-18.

The initiative has received funding from local councils in an effort to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Classes will be held at Thornton Little Theatre.
