A Haslingden dad who smashed his ex's window in a row over seeing their daughter was given an 18-month conditional discharge.

Burnley magistrates heard how Darryl Eatough, 30, wanted to introduce his daughter to his new girlfriend, but his former partner was having none of it.

Eatough, said to have struck in front of the eight-year-old girl owned up after the offence, but was held in custody.

The defendant, of Lincolne Place, Haslingden, admitted criminal damage on April 3.

He must also pay £75 compensation and £50 costs.
