NELSON and Colne College students took the hockey and five-a-side football trophy the North West Public Services Olympiad.
More than 35 Nelson and Colne students competed against 14 colleges across the North West on March 14 at Hopwood Hall College.
They took part in ladies and mens' five-a-side football, basketball and hockey tournaments.
In hockey, the college team won all six matches to take home the trophy.
Mathew Chestney, a National Diploma in Public Services student, was awarded player of the tournament title.
The ladies team took the five-a-side trophy after extra time and a penalty shoot out, with Jessica Hargreaves, National Diploma in Public Services student, voted player of the tournament.
In the men's event the college team finished mid-table against tough opposition. The students also achieved third place in the basketball tourn-ament.
