LATE night smokers will not be allowed to gather outside an historic Burnley hostelry, say planning chiefs.
Council bosses say a new smoking shelter beside the Craven Heifer, Briercliffe Road, can only be used up to 10pm.
The proposed smokers den is next to a residential street and planning officers were concerned about the possibility of any disturbance for residents.
But a report to Burnley Council says that if the shelter, which can only operate between 8am and 10pm, is well-managed it should not present a significant nuisance for neighbours.
