A couple who have owned a 'well-established' nursery for 20 years has decided to hand over the reins of the business.

Conkers Day Nursery, on Dewhurst Road, Langho, has been taken over by the Little Sparks Group of Nurseries, which also owns a site in Clayton-le-Moors which is rated ‘outstanding’.

The Langho site had been owned by Andrew and Dawn Holt for about 20 years before they decided to hand the nursery over to a new team.

Nursery manager, Josephine Read said: “This is a very exciting time for Conkers and with future investments planned for the nursery making improvements in training and resources to name a few.

“We aim to take Conkers Day Nursery to Ofsted outstanding like our sister nursery Little Sparks Clayton.

“The core team at Conkers will be working very closely with our new nursery director Emma Collins to implement all these improvements.”

Currently, Conkers Nursery is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted following an inspection in 2018.
