An East Lancashire drag queen will be "lip synching for her life" in the new series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, which starts later this month.

‘Sminty Drop’ from Clitheroe is one of 12 queens who will be taking part in the reality competition television series, where host RuPaul hunts for the UK’s next drag superstar.

The 23-year-old describes herself as a “sexy cyber supermodel from outer space”.

Sminty describes her drag look as “drop dead gorgeous”.

She said: “My drag look is Anna Faris in The House Bunny mixed with Megan Fox in Jennifer's Body thrown into the adult sized body of a Bratz doll, who has crashed landed down from Doja Cat’s Planet Her.

“I am literally the embodiment of contemporary British drag. My look isn't just beauty pageant glamour.

“I‘m so much more than sequins and tight gowns. I’m a fully conceived concept from head to toe.”

Sminty says she knows how to entertain a crowd and has been doing drag for around three years.

She said: “At a Sminty Drop show you are going to see stunning looks, you’ll see a gorgeous face and lots of hair. I love a good time and I know how to entertain a crowd.”

Sminty’s proudest career highlight to date is staring in Duran Duran music video ‘Anniversary’.

She said: “I had a good 8.3 seconds in the new Duran Duran music video. That was pretty good. My mum says they're really big.”

Sminty’s drag name came about thanks to her night out antics.

“The name Sminty Drop comes from me being on a night out and wanting to kiss some boys, so I would always take some mints with me just in case,” she said.

“But I’m also a very clumsy girl so I would always drop said mints on the floor so… Sminty Drop I became.”

Sminty has ambitious plans to make it to the final of the reality show and says the other drag queens should be “very worried”.

She said: "I’m not just a pretty face and body baby! I’m going to take that crown because I’ve got exactly what it takes to get it.

“I will slice, dice and chop up the runway in my nine inch heels and when I unpack my bags the other queens will wonder, ‘Oh god, should I just send myself home now?’ and I say ‘yes, yes you should!’

“I feel overwhelmed with happiness [to be on the show]. I can’t stop smiling. I can't believe I’m here but it feels correct. This is my fantasy. This is everything.”

Blackburn TV presenter, AJ Odudu, has been announced as a celebrity guest judge for the new season of Drag Race UK.

Presenter Tess Daly, singer and actor Olly Alexander, Spice Girls member Mel B and actress Dame Joanna Lumley are just some of the other guest judges who have been announced for season four.

Series one, two and three of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK have been streamed more than 51 million times on BBC iPlayer, firmly establishing the title as a smash hit for BBC Three.

Each week, the queens face challenges that test their drag race prowess to the max in the hope they have impressed RuPaul enough to avoid being one of the bottom two queens facing a lip sync for their life and elimination from the competition.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will return to our screens on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on Thursday, September 22.
