Firefighters were called to a house in Clitheroe after a wheelie bin caught fire and spread to the front door.

Fire crews attended the scene in Pinnock Drive, Clitheroe, at around 11.30am today (August 30).

The wheelie bin had set alight, and the fire spread to the garden fence and the front door of the house.

One fire engine from Clitheroe was sent to the house and firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

They were at the scene for around one hour.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “One fire engine from Clitheroe attended a domestic building fire in Pinnock Drive, Clitheroe.

“Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire, which involved a wheelie bin that had subsequently spread to the garden fence and front door of the property.

“Crews were on scene for approximately 55 minutes.”
