business set up by two East Lancashire brothers, that has boosted employment across Lancashire, is set to turnover £1m in their first year.

Daniel and Michael Boyle, from Burnley, are co-owners of Upholstery2u Ltd and have transformed their small business into a name that is being recognised by big brands globally.

These include JD Gyms, Matrix (Johnson Health), Village Hotels, Nuffield Health and Virgin Active.

Upholstery2u provides repairs to businesses throughout the UK, specialising in on-site repairs within the fitness, hospitality, beauty, public and medical sectors.

What started off as a man in a van covering the whole of the UK last October, has since evolved into a small enterprise with 17 members of staff, that turns over £120,000 a month and growing.

After being in the industry for over 13 years, Daniel wanted a new challenge, had big ideas and always wanted to run his own business.

He said: “I have been in the industry for 13 years but the business I was in didn’t have a drive to expand or implement the ideas I had.

“It was a big risk but I have always wanted to run my own business.

“The business is proving to be a success and we have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world."

Shortly after launching the business, Daniel approached his brother, Michael, to help with the scalability and sales side of the business.

Daniel, who currently lives in Colne, is excited to see what started off as a small local company is now creating job opportunities across the UK.

Whilst other upholstery businesses require furniture to be sent off-site, possibly taking weeks to fix, Upholstery2u repairs furniture in their custom workshop vehicles.

Daniel said: "We are continuing to reinvent the upholstery industry by applying a modern approach and using high-spec tools and technology.

"Our vans are high-spec mobile workshops that help us to transform business equipment and furniture on-site in a matter of hours.

"No complex logistics. No waiting weeks or months for equipment to be collected or delivered.

"No sending expensive items to landfill. Just fast, professional service that’s designed around you.”

Upholstery2u have just become an NHS approved supplier, this consisted of a thorough assessment of our workmanship and processes. Ensuring infection prevention control was passed and to a high standard.

Their aim is to now expand this service across the whole of the NHS network.

Daniel said he can't wait to see where the business will be in the coming years.

He said: "We have grown at such a fast pace in 10 short months, we can’t wait to see where we will be in years to come, until then we will continue to grow, expand and repair one stitch at a time”.
