A 49-year-old man has been jailed for supplying cocaine and MDMA over a six year period.

Kevin Wells, of Whipp Avenue, Clitheroe, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to 27 months in prison.

The court heard that on June 5 2020, officers from the Pendle task force executed a warrant at Wells' home address after he was found with a quantity of cannabis.

The cannabis was seized and Wells was subsequently arrested and released under investigation.

From police enquiries further evidence came to light that Wells was involved in the supply of class A drugs and had been dealing cocaine and MDMA for a period of six years between June 2015 and June 2021.

On Wednesday, he was convicted and jailed for 27 months for possession with intent to supply cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of MDMA.

Following his sentence hearing, a spokesperson for the police said: "Drug dealing will not be tolerated within our local communities and we will robustly target those people who are involved in the supply of drugs.
