Auditions are being held to find Prince Charming for a Cinderella panto this Christmas.

Traditionally, the fairytale sees the dashing Prince searching for Cinderella after she leaves a glass slipper at a ball - but now, producers at Blackburn's Empire Theatre are turning the story on its head by searching for their own Prince Charming.

Most of the cast of this year's production has already been announced, with Linda Lusardi as the Fairy Godmother and Lucy Kane as Cinderella.

But Tom Rolfe Productions are this weekend holding auditions to give one lucky local the opportunity to join the cast as Prince Charming.

Mr Rolfe said: “We are so excited to be bringing this brand-new production of Cinderella to Blackburn’s Empire at Christmas and we are now on the lookout for our Prince Charming.

“We know that there is so much local talent in Blackburn and the rest of the Northwest, and we wanted to give someone local the opportunity to star in this fabulous production.

“So, if you believe you have the acting, dancing, and singing skills to be part of this professional cast, then you cannot miss this opportunity.

“We are happy to hear from anyone who believes they could be our Prince Charming, whether you have mountains of experience or are just starting out.”

Applicants must be available from mid-November to the end of December and the successful Prince will be offered a contract to star in the panto.

The auditions are being held at the at Blackburn Empire Theatre on Sunday, August 21.

To book your place at the auditions, complete the application form on the theatre’s website.

You should be able to bring your own backing tracks.

Sample scripts will be sent to those selected for the auditions.
