HUNDREDS of people packed a town centre at the weekend for environmentally friendly fun.

They enjoyed bright sunshine as Accrington hosted its an Eco-Fest on Saturday.

The festival was organised by Hyndburn’s community-owned environmental charity The Prospects Foundation and was a celebration of all things green and environmentally friendly.

Organiser Joel Henderson said: "The sunny weather helped with a great turn out on the day. Hundreds of people came.

"There was a host of free activities on offer including a mini terrarium workshop, kids’ magic show, smoothie bike, archery and woodcraft demonstrations."

On the mainstage providing musical entertainment throughout the day were Johnny Elvis, Haslingden brass band, Blackburn Festival of Light samba band, Liam Paul acoustic covers and Northern Dholis bhangra drummers.

Local environmental charities and organisations including Ribble Rivers Trust, RSPB, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Lancashire Badger Group, Woody (Hyndburn) Community Interest Company, Go Velo cycling, Greenpeace, Hyndburn Council, Community Rail, Twigs magazine, Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club, East Lancs Beekeepers, Share Energy, Cambodia Crafts, Create Yourself, the Energy Guys, Chorley Nissan electric vehicles, Acorn Woodcraft, the Baby Bank, Snowdrop Doula and the Food Pantry took part.
