A WOMAN was chased around a parked car by her former partner when he confronted her as she went to collect her daughter from school.

Blackburn magistrates heard Mallion told the victim if there weren't so many people around he would kill her.

Mallion, 37, who gave an address in Kent but formerly lived in Darwen, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour and stalking the same victim.

He was jailed for 26 weeks for the stalking and a further 12 weeks was imposed for being in breach of a suspended prison sentence imposed for breach of a previous restraining order in favour of another aggrieved. He was made subject to another restraining order relating to the latest victim for five years.

Waqas Yakub, prosecuting, said Mallion had approached his former partner as she walked towards her daughter's school. She crossed the road to try and avoid him but he followed and launched a tirade of abuse and threats.

The stalking related to voice messages and calls to her. In one he said he was outside and knew who she was with. He said he had been watching her and said she should be scared of the next time she met him.

Mallion, who was not represented, said the suspended sentence was imposed for a breach of a previous restraining order.

"All I did was put up a banner to wish my little girl a happy birthday," he said. "I wanted to show her that I was thinking of her."
