A teenager was ‘driven at’ before being ‘attacked by four men with weapons’ during a robbery.

Police were called to Birtwistle Street in Accrington at about 11pm on Thursday August 11.

The victim – a 19-year-old man – got out of his vehicle and was immediately driven at by a black saloon car.

Police say he was then attacked by four men, who made threats toward him and are said to have brandished weapons.

The 19-year-old and a second victim – another 19-year-old man – had their mobile phones stolen before the attackers left in the black saloon.

An iPhone has since been recovered.

The suspects are described as two black males, an Asian male with a beard, and a white male, all in their 20s

No arrests have been made at this stage and police say enquiries are ongoing.

An appeal has now been launched for witnesses or anyone with footage of the robbery to come forward.

The robbery is being treated as an isolated incident and there is not thought to be any wider threat to the public.

DS Steve Craig said: “Work is ongoing to establish a full picture of what has occurred.

"We have a dedicated team of officers assigned to this case and reassurance patrols have been increased in the area as a precaution.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries we would ask anyone with information or CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage which could assist our investigation to get in contact.

"If you saw a dark coloured saloon in the area before or after 11pm we would be keen to hear from you.”

Anybody with information is asked to email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1659 of August 11.
