Visitors are flocking from near and far to visit Blackburn town centre’s sand sculpture trail.

Launched last Friday (August 12) and running until Sunday August 28, Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a Sand Sculpture trail across the town that’s free for families to visit.

There are 10 incredible summer holiday-themed sand sculptures, created by Hebden Bridge-based Sand In Your Eye, installed close to or within various business premises.

And following a three-day live carve, where approximately two tonnes of sand was used, a stunning sea life centre is also on display at the start of the trail in Victoria Court in The Mall.

Trail maps are available from the Ask Me Point in The Mall showing the location of each of the models, and are accompanied by a quiz sheet.

Alongside the sculptures will be some facts and figures, and if you answer all the quiz questions correctly on the back of the map booklet and hand it in to the Ask Me Point you will be in with a chance of winning £100 in high street vouchers to spend however you want.
