Police are looking for a man in connection with the theft of £400 from a pensioner.

The victim, a man in his 80s, was outside the Tesco Express on Whitegate Drive in Blackpool on the afternoon of Friday, April 29.

The pensioner was approached by a man who offered to carry his shopping bags for him.

It is alleged that while on Reads Avenue, the man returned the shopping bags, hugged the victim and then took £400 from his top shirt pocket. 

A spokesperson for the police said: We have carried out a number of enquiries to identify the suspect, and we now need to speak to the man in the CCTV still as we believe that he can help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone who recognises the man or has information which could assist the police investigation is asked to call 101 quoting the log number 0700 of the April 29.
