Taken in 1990, this photo shows the arrival of a large statue which would divide opinion.
The statue of Moses, based on an original by Michaelangelo was brought over from Italy and sited in front of the former, Aenon Baptist Chapel in Burnley which had become a nightclub.
Founded in 1852, the church on Red Lion Street remained a place of worship until it closed in 1987. The distinctive looking building was was designed by the same architect responsible for the design of the Mechanics Institute in the town.
It became Carpe Diem nightclub where the statue was on display on a raised plinth by the entrance.
The building was later used by the NHS to provide dental services in the town and the statue was removed.
Does anyone know what happened to Moses?
