Owners of an online crystal business are to open a shop in East Lancashire.
Adrian and Louise Rose, who live in Chatburn, are opening North West Crystals UK in Castlegate, Clitheroe on August 20.
The opening of a physical shop comes as a result of their online business thriving, with the couple managing to turn £422 into £220,000 in just three years.
Adrian and Louise are “excited” to open and say there aren’t many shops like theirs in the county.
Louise, who was born in Preston, said: “We can’t wait to open and have been very busy with internet sales.
“The shop is going to be a community shop that will allow like-minded people to come together.”
Adrian added: “We have a lot of interest in Lancashire and many of our internet-based customers are from the area so we decided to open a shop/community hub where people can come and sit with the crystals and buy them if they wish.”
Adrian said the shop stands out from other crystal businesses as they buy their products directly from miners and pass savings to customers.
Adrian said: “The reason for our success is because we import directly from miners or miner’s agents.
“This has allowed us to keep costs down and I think a lot of our success is because we are half the price or less than many other businesses.”
Adrian said there has been a huge surge in demand for crystals since lockdown.
The 52-year-old went on: “I think people have started looking introspectively into themselves and have become a lot more spiritual over lockdown.
“People are more aware of natural things which could be why they have turned to crystals by the droves.”
Louise says people purchase crystals for a number of reasons including aesthetic preferences and belief that they have healing properties.
She said: “Some people like them because they are pretty and shiny.
“However there are also people who believe there is a whole spiritual, metaphysical and healing side to them.
"Some people will buy a certain crystal to help them feel better.”
Adrian added: “Then there are also people who are full on geology geeks who just love to collect crystals.”
North West Crystals UK’s grand opening will take place on August 20.
