A Lancashire tapas restaurant is to close its doors for good after a decline in footfall and sales.

Fino Tapas in Dicconson Terrace, Lytham, will officially close this Sunday (August 14) after opening in June 2021.

Owner, Mark O’Rourke, said deciding to close the Lytham branch was “difficult” but says the Preston and Blackpool restaurants will remain open.

Mark said: “We have made the difficult decision to close our Lytham restaurant from Sunday, 14th August 2022, due to a decline in sales and footfall over the past six months of trading.

“July sales this year are 50 per cent less than last year while our other Fino venues have increased in sales.”

Mark says staff at the Lytham branch have been offered jobs at other sites.

He said: “When we initially launched Fino Tapas Lytham we saw some great numbers.

“However, quite quickly, it became more sporadic and unfortunately isn’t sustainable for us to remain open.

“We have offered all our staff members their jobs across other Fino Tapas sites, which remain thriving, and across our new sites due to open in the coming weeks.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful customers and employees for the past 12 months.

“Any vouchers can be used at our other sites or can be refunded when brought into Fino Lytham before Sunday August 14.

“Alternatively, email info@finotapas.co.uk for a refund on any valid vouchers.”

Fino Tapas restaurants serve modern Spanish tapas dishes and describes itself as “a true culinary and convivial celebration to be enjoyed with friends and family.”

Mark is an acclaimed restauranteur in the area and also owns restaurant 263 and plans to reopen Bath House Bistro in Preston soon.
