An alleged drink driver spent a night in the cells after crashing into a tree.
Officers were visiting a licenced premises in Whalley last night (August 6) when a taxi driver and member of the public told them about a nearby incident.
On attendance officers located and arrested a 65-year-old man on suspicion of drink driving.
The man gave a roadside breath test measuring 90 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, according to police, when the legal limit is 35.
A spokesperson for the police said: “The second person in as many days that seemed to think that following their arrest our lovely Clitheroe Officers would just assist them and take them home.
“Clearly there is an expectation issue here.
“If you are arrested on suspicion of drink driving you should expect to be spending some time in custody in order to address the matter at hand.”
