A Darwen woman has been fined more than £300 and had five points put on her licence after driving on the motorway at 85 miles per hour.
Jane Crompton, 49, was handed the fine by Preston Magistrates' Court on July 13, after speeding on the motorway near Bristol on May 28, 2021.
Crompton, of The Sidings, Darwen, was driving a white Audi at 85mph on the M5, travelling northbound between junction 17 and 16, near Patchway, just north of Bristol - nearly 200 miles away from her home.
She pleaded guilty in court on July 5, 2022.
Crompton was fined £305, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, and ordered to pay costs of £90 – a total fine of £429.
He driving licence was also endorsed with five points.
