A Rossendale hair salon is celebrating its successful 40 years of business by hosting a party for its regular clients later this month.

The party will be held at the Razors Hair Company salon in Burnley Road, Bacup, Rossendale and will run from 7pm until 11pm on Saturday, August 20, where party goers can pop in at any time to have a drink and canapes with the staff and clients.

Kim Johnson founded the business in July 1982 when she was just 19-years-old, and has owned and worked at the salon for the past 40 years.

She said: “Some of the clients I still do today have been with me nearly all the time I've been opened, and I've seen a lot of their children grow up and become clients too.

Kim, 59, is hosting the party to mark the celebration of the milestone and to recognise all the hard work her staff has put into the business.

The salon has nurtured some of the best talent in the hair industry and has seen a lot of the past staff go on to be senior stylists, managers, business owners and mobile hairdressers around Rossendale – and even as far as Australia.

There are three stylists currently at Razors Hair company, and Kim said: “My team at the moment consists of myself, Emma Jones whose been with me for 24 years and Katie Jordan who’s our apprentice.

“My last long-standing stylist Emma Michell, who's only just left the team, has just opened the EMI hairdressing academy in Stacksteads.”
