Theatre in the park is back this summer with two fantastic performances announced.

Organised by Chorley Council, these outdoor, amplified performances, by Quantum Theatre and Outreach Opera will provide a musical journey in the grounds of Astley Hall.

Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Peter Wilson, said: "We're excited to welcome outdoor performances to Astley Park this summer - this year's events offer something for both families and music enthusiasts. Both performances this year will be amplified providing improved sound for the audience.

"The Park's Walled Garden provides a stunning location for events like these, which are always really popular, so I urge everyone to get their tickets as soon as possible before they sell out."

On August 21, Quantum Theatre will bring Peter Rabbit and his naughty cousin Benjamin to Astley Hall's Walled Garden with their enchanting new adaptation of two of Beatrix Potter's best-loved tales.

This performance will provide a magical afternoon of fun for all the family.

Gates open at 5pm with the performance starting at 6pm until 7.30pm.

Ticket prices: Adults £15, Children 4-16 years £10 (three years and under go free), Family £40.

Following this, on September 3, Outreach Opera return to Astley Park for their Last Night of the Proms open-air concert, taking the audience on a musical journey from opera through to songs from the west end shows, finishing with much loved traditional British anthems, for those who enjoy flag waving and a sing-a-long.

Gates for this event open at 5.30pm (last entry 6.30pm) with the performance starting at 6.30pm.

Ticket prices: Adults £18, Children 5-16 years £10 (four years and under go free), Family £46 (online booking fees apply).
