A music festival is taking place at various venues in an East Lancashire town today.
The DBL Town Music Fest 2022 will be held in Darwen from 1pm today (Saturday July 30), and will feature live music across several of the town's bars and clubs.
Organised by Darwen Bars and Leisure (DBL), which is run by bar owner and entrepreneur Gary Perkins, the event has been put together in association with Youth Zone Darwen and Talk Ourselves Well, an organisation which gives people in Darwen the opportunity to talk about mental ill health, illness, health and wealth.
Gary said: "This as an event by the town, for the town, and is a combination of all the venues across Darwen working together to bring a day of live music, DJs, performance acts and much more."
Kicking off in The Vault at 1pm, the festival will run across venues such as The Taps Bar, The Bank, The Cock Pub, Artisan, Spitfire, Bridge Street Social, Number 39, Olive Bar, Cin Cin, Sunbird Records, and Millstone.
And with indoor as well as outdoor stages, it promises to be a huge day for the town, bringing music lovers to not only Darwen's bars and pubs, but to the high street itself.
There will be a stage on The Vault car park, and some huge acts - including a Little Mix tribute - will be performing inside the venue as Darwen School of Music stage a takeover of the Borough Road premises.
Live DJs will be spinning on the decks throughout the day, with the event continuing well into the evening.
The festival is free and open to anyone.
