With the school holidays underway, you might be wondering how to keep the children entertained.

If you’re a parent and unsure what plans to make for the summer, look no further.

Imagine That! is a science and discovery centre a short drive from Lancashire and it’s opening its doors every day during the school holidays.

Kids can enjoy the summer festival where they’ll be able to take part in a variety of activities including painting a summer-themed magnet, play with slime and ‘snow’ and do science experiments.

When visiting the science and discovery centre on a sunny day, kids can explore the dinosaur-themed outdoor area where they can play in the sand and look for fossils.

Imagine That! manager Aly Fielding said: “Summer is one of our busiest times of year because whatever the weather, come rain or shine, there’s plenty to keep budding scientists entertained during the long school break.

“Anyone who has been recently will know one visit just isn’t enough, there’s so much to do. And for those who haven’t been before, or for a long time, they’re in for a real treat!

“One highlight will be our summer festival theme. We’ll bring the beach to you with our giant digital screen. And we’ll have all the usual fun too, including our amazing science experiments, slime and ‘snow’ workshops.”

What’s more, Imagine That! has a Bright Sparks area with a ‘snow’ room and a water area so kids can play with water buckets and pumps.

The Slime Factory’s slime room is ideal for kids that love to get messy and they can even splatter a real car in the Artbeatz area.

While the mess stays at the centre, kids can take their mini masterpieces such as butterfly spin art pictures, painted fridge magnets and a keepsake photo (all included in the admission price) home.

The Imagination Village gives kids the chance to dress up as mini chefs, vets, construction workers and popstars.

On any day of thew school holidays, families can book a three-hour slot which offers 45 minutes in each of the four zones.

You’ll find the attraction in on Faraday Road, Wavertree Technology Park, in Liverpool which has free parking outside and is easily accessible via car.
