A man has been slammed for nonchalantly throwing a box on to someone’s doorstep.

Footage from a CCTV camera on Whalley Range in Blackburn shows a young man approaching a vehicle parked on double yellow lines.

He opens the door and throws what appears to be a pizza box onto the road before driving-off.

A resident who lives nearby said: “This is just so lazy. It is as if they have no regard for people’s homes. Someone will have to come and pick that up.

“I would like to see him do that in front of his own house.”

Whalley Range is one of the busiest stretches of road in Lancashire and is made up of homes and businesses.

This is not the first time this section of the road, towards the Whalley New Road end, has been blighted by people littering in front of resident’s homes though.

In June, a group of men can be seen returning to a Mercedes-Benz late at night and then dumping takeaway rubbish on to the street. Another man, in the front seat, also dumps a bag from the car, which had to be picked up by a homeowner in the morning.

In April, passengers in an Audi A3 casually opened their doors and threw used sauces, boxes, bags and wrappers onto the street. It is believed the occupants of the car had just finished breaking fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

Daisyfield and Bastwell Councillor Shaukat Hussain said: “It’s very frustrating to see this again and again.

“We had a really good clean-up around this area earlier this week and then you see this sort of behaviour. The video will be passed on to the environment officers.

“I would encourage residents and people visiting to take pride in the area and use street bins nearby or take the rubbish with you and dispose of it when you get home.”
