A Lamborghini driver has been disqualified from driving after failing to tell police who was driving his car.

Mohammed Sohal Patel was driving the supercar along Ribchester Road close to Clayton le Dale in the Ribble Valley when he was allegedly caught speeding by a speed camera.

While that matter was dismissed in court, with no evidence offered, the 41-year-old did admit a second charge of failing to give information relating to who had been driving the vehicle when he was asked to do so by police.

Patel, of Blackburn Road, Ribchester, was fined £692 during an appearance at Preston Magistrates Court, and ordered to pay a further £110 towards costs and a £69 victim surcharge fee.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months, with court documents stating that the disqualification was obligatory due to the repeated nature of his offending.

Patel will pay the total amount of £871 in £150 instalments starting on August 10.
