Oswaldtwistle pub landlord is hosting the inaugural four day ‘Around the World in 30 Gins’ festival starting this week.

West End Arms pub landlord Jonathan Barker is offering locals and new customers the opportunity to try gins from Japan to Lancashire and everywhere in between.

The Summer gin festival will start at the pub in Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle, on Thursday, July 28, to Sunday, July 31, so there’s plenty of time to free up your diary and taste the wonders of world through your favourite spirit.

Gin-lover Jonathan is the co-owner of Bay Distilleries in Morecambe and focus on supplying high quality spirits from local and organic suppliers.

He started the distillery company with his friend Chris after pooling together their savings and purchasing a tiny one litre still and began developing flavours from the kitchen table.

With his extensive passion for and knowledge of gin, the business owner and pub landlord’s gin festival is set to be a high-spirited event for the community.

There’s also going to be a live distillery demonstration with Jonathan on Saturday from 2.30pm and Sunday at 4pm.

Jonathan said: “We’re introducing customers to gins from the likes of Lebanon, Canada, New Zealand as well as Lancashire gins because sourcing local is important to us.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity for people to try a new product and learn a lot about how the product is made whilst also just having a good time socialising with people.”

A single gin with mixer will be priced at £4 and a double will cost £6 – not bad for travelling the world of gin on a budget.

If you fancy venturing out into the big wide world of gins from across the globe, or would just rather stick to your usual gin and mixer order then head down to West End Arms from Thursday to Sunday.

The pub is located on Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle and is open from 2pm on weekdays and from 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.
