The ‘for sale’ sign had gone up marking last orders for the Yutick’s Nest on Pringle Street in Blackburn in April 1992.
The pub was the second of the name in the town having been opened by Daniel Thwaites in 1976. It replaced the original Yutick’s Nest which had been around since 1866 situated on Dickinson Street in the town.
That pub was demolished in 1972 as part of redevelopment work in the area. In case you are wondering about the unusual name, ‘yutick’ is another name for the whinchat, a small bird seen in the summer
