WE’RE wondering if any Looking Back readers remember when this historic building in Burnley was operating as Thwakum's restaurant?

The photo was taken in 1991 of the restaurant in the Grade II listed three-storey building on Cow Lane which which had originally been part of a cotton mill and may have been used as a warehouse.

The restaurant was named after a character - Mr Thwackum - from the novel, The History of Tom Jones by Henry Fielding.

Music lovers will recognise the building for being the home of the Sanctuary Rock Bar which has been based there since 2005.
